About Simorgh

Talent reaching talent, across a hard border

The Iranian diaspora holds extraordinary technical talent and a generation of founders and investors who succeeded abroad. Simorgh is the bridge between them and the people still building without any of it.

Iran produces world class engineers. Sharif and the University of Tehran turn out people who would be competitive at any company anywhere, and a great many of them leave. What is left behind is talent cut off from capital, from networks, and sometimes from the software everyone else takes for granted. What went abroad is a generation that arrived with nothing and built anyway.

Both halves are strong. Neither can reach the other. That is the gap Simorgh exists to close, and it is the one thing a generic incubator cannot copy, because it is not a strategy. It is who we are.

This is not a charity and the diaspora is not a hardship story. Iranian founders abroad became operators and investors on merit, and the fastest way to compound that is to point it back at the next generation. Talent becomes capital. Community becomes a growth engine.

The model

We do not invest. We connect.

Simorgh is not a fund and takes no equity. There is no cheque and no cap table, and there is no fee to any of the five groups who join. What there is: two incubation batches a year, a dedicated mentor for every founder who comes through, and a living network of mentors, investors, partners, and talent who are reachable because they chose to be.

When a founder needs capital, we introduce them to investors who told us what they look for. When a company needs its first engineer, the Talent Hub finds one inside the flock. When a cohort needs a market or a lab or a hard problem to work on, a partner supplies it. Nobody in this arrangement is anyone else's product.

Thirty birds crossed seven valleys to find their king, and at the end of it they found each other. Si morgh. Thirty birds. The name is not decoration, it is the thesis.
